I have proposed to merge H.T. Pugh into this article. Pugh was the mason who built approximately one-third of the structures on this list. His contributions to the built environment of Jerome appear to have been substantial, but there isn't enough information about him as a person (based on the single source cited and its bibliography) to provide a basis for a biographical article. Since the main thing that's known about him is his craftsmanship, it makes sense to tell about his work in this article, which is largely focused on his work. --Orlady (talk) 18:23, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose merger, keep the H.T. Pugh article separate, and develop it. FYI, this relates to ongoing discussion at wt:NRHP where i just mentioned this merger proposal. An earlier version of the Pugh article had more context in blockquotes that got ripped out, should be restored and developed, and SarekOfVulcan seems to agree, there. --doncram 18:46, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Comment. I suppose you will be shocked to learn that I read the source that those blockquotes were copied from. (BTW, copying from a source and putting it the text in quotation marks is not particularly good form, even if you bother to identify the source, which you apparently had not done.) I looked for personal information about Mr. Pugh. I found extensive information about his work and methods, but the only personal detail I found was that he had trained in Wales. There's no information on his life dates, when or why he emigrated, etc. I couldn't even figure out when he started working in Idaho and when he stopped. The only ghit on the man is the Wikipedia article. Considering that the only thing that can be documented about Pugh is his contribution to building Jerome, it seems to me that the best place to tell about him is in an article about what he built. --Orlady (talk) 18:59, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose merger If we can't establish enough biographical notability, rename the original to "Works of H. T. Pugh" or something to that effect. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 19:15, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. I'm not so sure that we should keep Pugh as a separate article, but this list isn't the place to have so much information about Pugh. Deletion would be a better choice than redirection. Nyttend (talk) 01:32, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
