research issue[edit]

In the old list to be cross-checked, in Collinsville, there was listed: Zion Baptist Church (Collinsville, Mississippi) for Zion Baptist Church. The item does not appear in NRIS-based list for Lauderdale County, is there an NRIS location or other error (of which there are many in other states) or is this not NRHP listed? Perhaps it shows in a different county? I'll start the article, hope to see where its coordinates place it. Mapquest shows county borders.... doncram (talk) 01:36, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In the stub article, clicking on the NRIS-provided coordinates, and selecting MapQuest to view it in, the location appears to be in Kemper County, across the line from Lauderdale County. So it seems correct to exclude it from this Lauderdale county NRHP list. And, the NRIS-based table for National Register of Historic Places listings in Mississippi#Kemper County includes it. So, i think all is set correctly now. doncram (talk) 01:44, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

references[edit]

There are about 48 references in the list-article, currently most of footnotes #2 to #50, which seem to add gravitas towards asserting well-sourcedness of the article. But, they are bad footnotes (in terms of pointing readers to bad experiences attempting to download NRHP documents which appear to be available online but are not) which are not needed, IMHO. A single reference to the NRIS database suffices for establishing that the places are in fact listed on the National Register. I checked and removed a couple; another editor restored those two. Perhaps others could consider whether keeping them in seems excessive or good. --doncram (talk) 16:41, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
