VOAD has been changed from a redirect to an article by 184.96.213.147 (talk · contribs) covering this term in a broader sense. "VOAD" is not a good title for that page, but it does have some good content so raising it here for discussion about merging or retitling. John Vandenberg (chat) 06:29, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

VOAD Article should remain separate[edit]

National VOAD is just a group of some of the largest VOAD participants that activate on a nation-wide basis. Though National VOAD is the founding organization of the VOAD Movement, there are thousands of state, local and regional VOAD chapters, and tens or hundreds of thousands of organizations that participate in those chapters. Many (or most) of the local chapters have no idea that a National VOAD organization even exists. Because each chapter has a non-hierarchical relationship with the others, it would be inappropriate to merge the VOAD page into this page. If anything, this page is a conceptual subset of the VOAD page. Agreed that "VOAD" is not a good title for the other page. It should be "VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters)".
