Untitled

[edit]

I was surprised that there was no entry on the 1970 student strike. Most of the content, for starters, is copied from the Kent State Shootings aftermath section. I plan to build on this and welcome anyone else who wants to help. Roregan (talk) 07:48, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the student strike facts...

[edit]

"hundreds of universities, colleges, and high schools closed throughout the United States due to a student strike of eight million students, " -This was taken off of the Kent State Shootings, this article depicts 4 million students participating. 04:19, 7 October 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by TehFunksta (talkcontribs)

Okie from muskogee

[edit]

that song was recorded in 1969, while it was about the counterculture it could NOT have been in direct reference to this walkout and therefore I am removing it until somebody establishes why it should be mentioned in the backlash section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.134.95.103 (talk) 05:58, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New Section

[edit]

For our group project, we would like to add a section that would talk a bit about protests across the country that happened as a result of the Cambodia incursion. The 1970 student protests weren't just a one-place, one-time thing. I think this will also help clean up the introduction on this page. I was thinking for this edit, we could maybe each choose a specific university's campus protests. I have written a short draft about the protests at Yale that I will add to the group wiki page. University protests

[edit]

Today I added a new section that will describe the protests at different universities. Two other classmates of mine will be adding to it within the week. Hopefully this will encourage others to add their own information as well. I put this section before the Nixon administration reaction section because I thought helped it flow better and made more sense. Dsrmn (talk) 03:10, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ohio University sourcing…

[edit]

Despite the banner on sourcing, I disagree that relying on multiple articles from a single newspaper is a problem for sourcing one geographically local section of an article. Maybe there's undue weight to Ohio U, but that's a different issue. If there are no objections this week, I'll remove the banner. -- Carwil (talk) 00:49, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
