Missing former reservations?[edit]

A small portion of Dakota Territories was transferred back Nebraska in 1882. On that small strip were the Ponca IR, southern 1/4 of the Lower Brule IR (not the same Lower Brule IR of today), and a very small tract of the Upper Brule IR (which a considerably smaller tract remains today as the Rosebud IR). I'm pretty certain the Upper and Lower Brule IRs are missing from the list, but I'm still trying to confirm if the Ponca IR was a separate IR or if it was part of the Niobara IR (which a considerably smaller tract remains today as the Santee Sioux IR). Any insights before adding these 2 or 3 IRs into the article? CJLippert (talk) 18:35, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also, before adding any of these, in addition to the Ponca IR issue already stated, I need to find out if the Dakota IR that are found on the Everts & Kirk is accurate or not, as I thought Dakota IR got broken up a few years earlier into the various contiguous IR blocks that got whittled down to what now are non-contiguous blocks that they are today. Anything before 1882 in that strip would be part of Dakota Territory's history and not Nebraska's. CJLippert (talk) 14:25, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Which Pine Ridge?[edit]

In the section "Tribes and treaties", the last entry in the table is for an 1892 treaty in which the Lakota "ceded a parcel of land including Pine Ridge, Nebraska". Pine Ridge, Nebraska, now known as Whiteclay, Nebraska, is a rather small unincorporated community. Should this, instead, be Pine Ridge (region)? Unfortunately, the source cited isn't online, so I can't check it. Can someone who follows this article do so? Thanks. Ammodramus (talk) 22:13, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
