Name change[edit]

Is Naval Campaign of the War of the Pacific realy the best name for this part of the War of the Pacific? By a naval campaign it is understood that there is one active part carrying out operations while the other side adopts a more passive role. I would suggest to consider changing the name of this page to Naval phase of the War of the Pacific or Naval theatre of the War of the Pacific to not equate the Chilean naval operations with the whole maritime part war. The incursions of Huacar (monitor) shows that Peru also had iniciative at the seas and there is therefore no single naval campaign. Dentren | Talk 19:36, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spanish Wikipedia article[edit]

The Spanish Wikipedia has a much longer article on this naval campaign at es:Campaña naval de la Guerra del Pacífico. It includes some nice images. Some material could be brought over from there to expand this article. EdJohnston (talk) 16:55, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
