Talk:Navy Musicians Association

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I am a member of the Navy Musicians Association. However, I believe no conflict of interest exists. My membership is "rank and file": I receive no remuneration. Nor does the Navy Musicians Association benefit by inclusion in Wikipedia except in the manner typical of any organization included in reference works.

Neutrality: The article, as initiated, maintains a neutral point of view. As stylistic guidelines, I've used Wikipedia entries about other veteran's organizations, particularly the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Notability: Wikipedia contains numerous entries on large and small veterans organizations, even entries consisting of lists of veterans' organizations. Inclusion of the Navy Musicians Association seems justified.

Sources: I've used the organization's website as a primary source, as well as the organization's less easy-to-find pulp resources.

The text quotes the Navy Musician Association's mission statement. Aside from that, no institutional material, copyrighted or otherwise, is used. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fmullen (talkcontribs) 22:39, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was also the author of a previous Wiki of the same title and subject. It was a stub at best, truly, and was removed. I believe the current article meets Wiki standards for notability, neutrality and sourcability, if that's a word.
