Common name
[edit]As per WP:AVOIDEDITWAR since one is clearly starting here: I am continuously reverting edits which changes all instance of "Salmon catfish" to "triangular shield catfish" as to suggest the latter is more common. According to WP:FISHES#Fish names and article titles, commons names should be derived from FishBase, and FishBase directly suggest that "salmon catfish" is the primary name for this species here: https://www.fishbase.se/summary/12090. FishBase also states that "Salmon catfish" is the internationally-recognized name for the fish while "triangular shield catfish" is a local vernacular here: https://www.fishbase.de/ComNames/CommonNamesList.php?ID=12090&GenusName=Neoarius&SpeciesName=leptaspis&StockCode=1241.Leafy46 (talk) 21:08, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
