"During the Shivaratri festival at Shri Kaleshwar Mndir the main importantance is given to Gawade Fammily Nerurkar, Desai, Prabhu, Raut, Parab, Ghadi, and also MAHAR (Buddha no included.). For development of this temple mens like Nerurkar , Dada Gawade, Aba Gawade from Waghchaudi , Walavalkar had taken lot of effort."
I have deleted the above sentences added by a user for both grammatical errors and possible POV/vanity issues. I hope somebody will be able to confirm/clarify whether this info is notable enough to go on the encyclopedia entry. Prashanthns 16:29, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
The info about Vasantrao Arjun Naik is accurate. I myself being from Nerur, I know quite a few things about Nerur. I will make it a point to update this page from time to time. I can't put in all the information now itself, as I am hard-pressed for time nowadays. New Rock Star 11:39, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
With all due respect to Mr. Vasantrao Naik, there are many great people borne in Nerur or have their origin from Nerur and have achieved laurels in diiferent fields. Is it appropriate to give all these names and their achievements and make this page too boring for others to read. Let us stop filling this page with irrelevant info to promote our individual families. Let the information in this page be restricted to Nerur, the village, per se.
Mr. Vasantrao Naik is the builder of modern Nerur. His name must be on the 'Nerur' page. There is mention of Gandhi, Shivaji, Akbar, etc. and in the India page. Then, why not Vasantrao Naik's name here, in the village he has developed almost single-handedly, even when there was brutal opposition. Please don't delete the info again. First, sign up and then discuss. You have no right to delete any information from the public domain.
I think, New Rock Star is correct, as prominent persons from the land, especially those who have toiled for the region should be mentioned in the article. See, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, it is NOT a dictionary. So, other references, related events, prominent leaders should be mentioned. That is one of the purposes of Wikipedia. In fact, the article should be expanded. Please try adding more content. Ashay Arekar 04:55, 24 December 2005 (UTC)
Instead of signing with a disguised fancy name as "New Rockstar", I prefered to remain ananimous. I did not know that Mr. Vasantrao Naik is as great a person as Gandhi, Shivaji, Akbar. Anyway, information about Mr. vasantrao Naik is also wrong and as per the authentic information the school in Nerur is funded by late Mr. Yashwantrao Naik (noted Jewel merchent from Germany) in memory of his late German wife Ingetrao and your Vasantrao Naik created lot of problems for him and he eventually got fade up because of dirty politics created by this rougue Mr. Vasantrao Naik. I do not wish to wash the dirty linens in public, but at the same time we should not misguide people with wrong information. Now that you got the correct picture, stay away otherwise many more corpses will come out of the cupboard. (user Dr.Keshav Naik, Dusseldorf, West germany )
I think Dr. Keshav Naik is right. But he should have used little decent language....(User: Mr. Ramchandra Nerurkar)
Ha Ha Ha, Keshav Naik, after all, you showed your aukad. Tu tujhya mul padavar aalasach na. Using expletives won't win the argument in your favour. You have shown the dirty things flowing in your mind. Just because you were sidelined, you cannot go on talking things about the great Mr. Vasantrao Naik. Just funding the school isn't enough. Anyone can do it. But who worked for the people? It wasn't your jewellery merchant who went and spoke to people about education. It was Vasantrao Naik who did it. And mind your language, you rascal (Keshav Naik), if Mr. Vasantrao Naik had to play politics, he would have done it so easily. He would have joined the Congress. It was your bloody comrades like P K Sawant who played dirty politics. And now that you are in Germany, stay as a German and dont try to step on our soil. To say in Marathi, " ikde ludbud nako karus " New Rock Star 05:14, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
The discussion on this page is getting more and more abusive. Mr Newrockstar, please don't use abusive language as you are an Wikipedian. Dr. Keshav Naik, I strongly advise you to sign up and then you can discuss personal matters with Mr.Newrockstar at your own user discussion page. Also, taking into account that you started abusive language (refer line #8 of your coment), it would be better if you'd avoided using it on a public page. Also, if you have any personal rivalry with Mr.Vasantrao Naik, it doesn't mean that references to him would be deleted. As you call yourself a Dr., you would do well to understand that this is a public domain. Again, I say that this article needs to be revamped and expanded, so references to a public figure would be a good idea. Otherwise this article could be listed for deletion. Indeed irrelavent
This page was listed for deletion, and I voted against it as I was sure it was so listed for lack of information and not for lack of notability. It is indeed sad to see now, we have lot of information from local people, but, hardly encyclopediac!! Could the users above (exclude Shishir Rane please go through wikipedia basics, familiarise themselves with the concept and take up a fair approach in trying to keep up this page. Indeed sad that a person like me, who does not know Nerur salvaged it out only to hear talk of deletion because people are fighting about a few politicians. Prashanthns 14:07, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
