This article is poorly written and has no references period. For example, it mentions that Netstorm has recently become abandonware. This needs a reference as to when this happened. Linking to a page on abandonware is not a reference. Not only doesn't this page verify whether Netstorm is abandonware but is also provides a link to a site where you can illegally download the game. Not only this, but there is no mention whether Activision has given their permission to download this game.

Good luck. You won't find any "recent" sources for Netstorm becoming abandonware. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.97.125.128 (talk) 06:28, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How about now (2011)? I am pretry sure somewhere in 2009 (or 2010) NetStorm was offically declared abandonware. Naki (talk) 20:00, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • NetStorm became abandonware when Activision announced that they are turning off their last server and drop all support to netstorm. This announcement as official written statement does not exist anymore since they removed all support from their official sites. Everyone is free to contact Activision about it (if they manage to confirm Netstorm's ownership) but there's no reference to be found, only private messages from few contributors and supporters.

NOTE: This game has some US style war propaganda going on. It could be marked for having such a design. Every enemy is an evil tyrant. The player is of course good and freedom loving; surrendering is made a big deal in a mission, while letting your units die is ignored and killing off the enemy is cheered on.

Turning demo into the full version

[edit]

I'm aware you can download the full game online now for free(and I have done so), but I'm curious if anyone knows how the glitch that turned the demo into the full game worked. Strictly from a point of curiousity, I'm interested in this.

There were two versions of the demo - one that contained EVERYTHING, which was quickly revoked, and one that just had a few missing bits of data. One was just a simple matter of "flicking the switch", the other you set it to a full version inside a confusing file full of unlabeled options and it was then a "Full" version that took downloaded the missing peices to the pc from the server. 125.254.101.16 (talk) 09:44, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:NetStorm Cover.jpg

[edit]

Image:NetStorm Cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:17, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
