This highway is basically the former designation of Valley of Fire Road, which is a Nevada Scenic Byway. Valley of Fire Road currently redirects to the article on the park. History/pictures could be added to pull the road info out of the park article.

SR 40 followed Valley of Fire Road in its entirety. SR 40 became part of SR 169 in the renumbering and was truncated later. --LJ (talk) 23:16, 17 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
