I was successful if finding two versions of the song, neither of which were written by the authors cited, so copyright laws may not apply.

The first, purportedly written by Manous Hajikas, was "copied" phonetically as sung by Nana Mouskouri in the film.

Ta Pedia Tuo Pirea (Never On Sunday) As performed, (I think), by Nana Mouskouri:

Ap’to parathiro mou stelno ena dio Ke tria ke tessera filia Pou ftanoun sto limani ena ke dio

Ke tria ke tessera poulia Pos tha ‘thela na iha ena ke dio

Ke tria ke tessara pedia Otan tha megalsoun ola na ginoun Leventes yia hari tou Pirea

This English version, attributed to Billy Towne, was sung by the Chordettes.

Never on Sunday

As performed, (I think), by The Chordettes:

Oh, you can kiss me on a Monday, a Monday, a Monday is very, very good.

Or you can kiss me on a Tuesday, a Tuesday, a Tuesday, in fact, I wish you would.

Or you can kiss me on a Wednesday, a Thursday, a Friday and Saturday is best.

But never ever on a Sunday, a Sunday, a Sunday, ‘Cause that’s my day of rest.

Most any day—you can be my guest. Any day you say—but my day of rest.

Just name the day, that you like the best, only stay away, on my day of rest.

Oh, you can kiss me on a cool day, a hot day, a wet day which ever you may choose.

Or try to kiss me on a grey day a Mayday, a payday, and see if I refuse.

And if you make it on a bleak day, a freak day, a week day well, you can be my guest,

But never, never on a Sunday, a Sunday, the one day I need a little rest.

Oh, you can kiss me on a week day, a week day, a week day, the day to be my guest.

P.S. I learned my listening/copying skills from listening/reading lyrics heard by Mandarin-as-first-language speakers on albums purchased in the Republic of Taiwan in 1968, at which time there were no copyright statutes.

P.P.S. Anyone who can do any better is most welcome to do so.
