Premium of coins in New France[edit]

There's a disagreement between two sources as to the premium at which coins circulated in New France. [1] says that it was 18 between 1664 and 1680, then 13 between 1680 and 1717. [2] says "The French Colonial Livre traded at a 20% premium from July 18, 1654 until October 7, 1661, at a 33.3% premium until March 2, 1662, and a 50% premium thereafter." I've gone with the first reference as I'm guessing that a booklet produced by the Bank of Canada may be more authoratative but it would be nice to be sure. Does anyone have corroborative information, one way or the other?
