Name, actual border and current population[edit]

1. Pine Creek, CA was renamed New Pine Creek, CA. Did New Pine Creek, OR always stick or did it also change from Pine Creek, OR to New Pine Creek, OR?

2. This article says "However, a surveying error in 1868 caused part of New Pine Creek to be placed in Oregon.[6]" Reference 6 says "A surveyor named Daniel Major marked the 213-mile boundary in 1868-69. Major's line, which has been used ever since, goes almost half a mile north of the 42nd parallel in some places, and half a mile south in others, like New Pine Creek."

It's not clear at this point if the state line should be moved up or down by 2640 feet.

3. There is no information on the current population for the town on the Oregon side.
