Issues with article[edit]

The NY Daily News linked in the first sentence ceased publication in 1906. The wiki article states that the Sunday News started in 1866, but the reference doesn't show that date, though this one does: https://www.loc.gov/item/sn83030321/. Instead the New York Daily News (not the one that closed down in 1906) started in 1920 (New York Daily News). The Carmen Miranda photo used states that the date is in the upper right hand corner of the uncropped photo, but we don't have access to that photo (unless maybe by digging through every issue of the NY Daily News for 1941) so can't be verified. The article itself references both papers.

Basically this article has issues and may need to be split into 19th century and 20th, and references verified, or at least rewritten to show that it was the title of two different papers. Tengu99 (talk) 02:54, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
