Comment[edit]

I don't think there is a date for the extinction of the New Zealand Swan. I don't think there are any Maori references to them. And perhaps we should change the taxobox and intro sentenace to reflect its recategorisation as a subspecies of the Black Swan, not a species. Sabine's Sunbird 02:08, 27 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, make the change. It guess carbon dating of skeletal remains might give us an answer in the future. Onco_p53 03:26, 27 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've updated this to reflect those recent publications. It would be good to negotiate with Te Papa to see if they'd be willing to release one or both of the skeletal photos to the Commons. Giantflightlessbirds (talk) 04:44, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Revival of Species[edit]

Nothing in that section relates to the "revival of the species". Suggest moving the text in this section to "Discovery" or renaming the section completely? 77.100.159.19 (talk) 16:54, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
