Rebid question[edit]

Consider this other example hand:

  •  Axxx  KQxx  Jxx  Ax : planning to force to game, in either spades or notrump, (or, remotely possibly, diamonds)

It seems clear to me to rebid 3NT, not 2 here. Suppose partner has the other example hand which would have bypassed 1 ( Txxx  AJ  KTxx  KQx. Do you really want to be in 4? And as noted, if partner has  Kxx  AJx  KQTxx  xx, 5 is nearly cold, while 3NT is hopeless on a club lead, but can you get there (or to 4)? Matchups 18:22, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
