Confusion with other languages

[edit]

When adding the bit about language revival project, I noticed that the project page had "Wangga" in parentheses after Ngarla. After a bit of googling, it's all a bit too confusing to do in a hurry, but it looks as if this needs to be investigated and documented properly. Austlang A79 Ngarlawongga takes me to Yinhawangka language. An Aboriginal language project, the Irra Wangga Language Program give further info on Ngarlawangga, saying "Ngarla has also been referred to as Ngarlawangga, possibly to distinguish it from the unrelated Ngarla language in the north Pilbara Region" and "Ngarla belongs to the Pama-Nyungan language family, in the Ngayarda sub-group. Other languages in this sub-group include Yinhawangka, Jurruru and Kurrama". I am hoping that someone with more time and expertise can help to sort this out. I will be posting a message on the Yinhawangka talk page about this too. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 07:36, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
