Wrong birthdate

[edit]

Mitchells date of birth is definitely wrong. He is in his early twenties. The 1973-birthdate was a mistake by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter which was corrected one week later. Unfortunatley, I'm not sure what his real birthday is - it could be February 1 1983, but I cannot guarantee.

He is 23, making his birthday February 1 1983, Mitch has said this on his myspace.

his REAL birthday is feb 1st 1973, the myspace profile you are going on is a fake profile, those pictures were taken of his actually one and used to make a fake one. If you don't believe me go thorugh nickys myspace and find nick and then check his pictures you will see nicky has commented on this profile because its the real one. The bigtimenickmitchell profile is a FAKE

It has his friends and family on there, and they all refer to Mitch's space as the bigtimenickmitchell address.

Anyway found the one mentioned, he only accepts people he knows.

Even if his MySpace-Page is fake, Mitchell's birthyear is definitely NOT 1973. This belief roots back to an edition of the Wrestling Observer by Dave Meltzer. This has been a mistake and Meltzer acknowledged that, I mailed him. Unfortunately, hundreds of wrestling sites have copied the mistake without realizing the correction, typical for the internet wrestling community. Mitch is in his twenties, definitely. I mean look at him: Does he have the face of a 33-year old?84.57.35.249 22:45, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I finally have proof that Mitch's birthday is in November as I watched the Armageddon 04 DVD, and clips of him getting cut from Tough Enough in November 2004, and he says it "it's my birthday today"--Acjc 20:27, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Origin

[edit]

I remember reading in a wwe magazine that he was of italian origin, can someone allow me to post that.

Not if you don't provide the actual quote from the source. 14:04, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

GA Review

[edit]
This review is transcluded from Talk:Nick Mitchell/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

Hi, I'm Mm40 (talk · contribs) and I'll be reviewing this article. I'll be watching this page, and will be very active over the next week, so you should just leave any comments here.

Lead
  • I think his nickname, "Big Time", should be placed more prominently, such as in the infobox and the lead's first sentence
  • I'm not fond of the half-a-line paragraph in the lead
  • The lead should be expanded a bit to include something about his personal life and football career
    • I think I got it, on points 2 and 3.
American Football career
  • More background on Blinn College, particularly where it's located, should be added
    • Noted in the PL section.
  • More information on his football career, at least the position he played, would be nice.
    • He played "both sides of the ball". I'm guessing he played offense and defense, but I don't want to speculate.
  • Much more can be taken from current reference 3, such as why he was only at Blinn for two semesters, information on his MMA career (first opponent/event), information on high school, the scholarship he got from Northwestern State, details about his first TE appearance, etc. Basically, this article is on the short side, so we should be looking to add detail.
    • In the PL section.
Tough Enough and developmental territories
  • Mitchell was eliminated from TE first: [3]
    • Done.
  • The sentence beginning "He began wrestling under the name..." is confusing: does the name have anything to do with who he fights? I think this could be clarified by saying "other competitors included..."
  • How did he injure his knee in Tough Enough?
    • I don't think he got injured in Tough Enough. I think you mean during his time with Deep South Wrestling. Also, the implication of the injury is not notable.
  • Take out the "however" in the last sentence of the the Tough Enough section as that sentence doesn't contrast with the previous one
    • Removed.
The Spirit Squad (2006)
  • Somewhat major problem: the section doesn't talk about Mitchell's role in the group at all.
    • He didn't have much a role to be honest. The Squad was really used to promote Kenny and Mikey, and the other three were just "filler" for lack of a better term. I've added that he was mainly used in a non-wrestling role for the first few months due to his injury, but there's not a whole much more I can add. ♥NiciVampireHeart15:22, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Did Mitchell ever fight in any individual matches in WWE?
    • No, he did not. He fought along with the Spirit Squad.
  • When you say "they had their WWE television debut as a group", do you mean that all five members were appearing in WWE for the first time?
  • In the first paragraph of the section on the Spirit Squad, does Shawn Michaels have a position (such as McMahon as WWE chairman)?
    • No, at the time, he was a wrestler. Now, he's retired.
  • "with outside help from the other three Squad members" Can this be clarified; what did they do to help?
  • More background is needed on DX; since the article says "revive", when was the first incarnation?
  • "and a clean sweep in an elimination handicap match" what is a "clean sweep"? I've heard the term in other contexts, but I'm unsure of what it means here
    • Meaning, that the team defeated all of them, without Michaels and Triple H being pinned.
  • When the Squad went on a losing streak in singles matches, did Mitchell lose any matches individually? and a clean sweep in an elimination handicap match
    • No, he didn't participate in that. He was just at ringside.
  • Is there any info on why WWE released him? I think I saw a blog on it, but there may be a better source.
    • I don't think so, not like, I'm not sure there is anything related to that.
Mixed Martial Arts
  • As I said above, this section should be expanded
    • There's not that much info. on his MMA career.
  • Since Rock Long is red-linked, would it be possible to give background on him? Such as who else he has trained, where he's based, etc.
Personal life

I'll finish the review tomorrow. Mm40 (talk) 03:18, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
