The Johnny Cash "Spirtual" Experience[edit]

I'm not sure how "spitual" his experience was. From all available accounts, he was high on alcohol and drugs and went to Nickajack Cave to commit suicide. His plan was to enter the cave and go as far as he could until his light gave out, then lay down and die.

Odds are, he didn't make it far, then laid down and passed out. When he woke up, probably a LOT more sober, especially considering the temperature in the cave is only 57 degrees, he decided he didn't really want to die that day after all, and followed a breeze, hoping it would lead him to the entrance. Soon, he saw light in the distance and followed it out, where he found his wife and mother waiting for him.

Good for him, though, if this prompted him to quit alcohol and drugs.
