Footnote five is mostly based on erroneous research. Matteis did not marry a rich widow in 1700. This woman was Matteis's daughter-in-law Susan Timperly. Tilmouth got many things totally wrong and that these errors have never been corrected is an embarrassment for historical musicology..--Dr. Michael Lorenz (talk) 12:51, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
