Nicolò or Niccolò?[edit]

Both Grove and Oxford give one C. What source gives two Cs? --Kleinzach (talk) 08:56, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In the absence of any response to my question I'm reverting. --Kleinzach (talk) 02:09, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Opera dates[edit]

Does anyone else think the dates might be a little screwy? Or did he just have a lot of complete-but-unperformed operas at the time of his death? The dates on his operas go on for about 5 years after the date given as his death.--76.18.93.72 (talk) 05:24, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The dates are as given in Grove. Two posthumous works are not that unusual, I think. --Kleinzach (talk) 07:41, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking of dates ...[edit]

... we give his DOB as 16 May 1773. My old Grove V (1954 ed, 1968 reprint) gives it as 6 December 1775. These seem a little hard to reconcile. -- Jack of Oz [Talk] 04:27, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
