Not an ancient Greek polis

[edit]

Neither Hatzopoulos nor Hensen-Nielsen mention this settlement as an ancient Greek polis. Both mention it as a polis-like settlement of the Bylliones, an Illyrian tribe which socially had adopted many Hellenistic elements. Nielsen (2004): A Hellenistic manumission inscription found at Nikaia records the strategos eponymos of the koinon of the Bylliones. This has been long been identified with Klos by consecutive modern expeditions, Hatzopoulos is using outdated bibliography here in terms of identification but he too connectes this with the Illyrian Bylliones and not a Greek polis or colony. Also, the article has borrowed material so closely by Nielsen that it borders copyright infringement. --Maleschreiber (talk) 22:17, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
