With all respect to Ukraine, Nikifor was born in Poland, he died in Poland and lived most of his life, except for some flights abroad, in Poland. His ancestors were of the Ukrainian origin (he was Lemko, just like Andy Warhol), but it's not the reason to consider him a Ukrainian. Amen

He is a Polish painter on geographical principle, but as well as Ukrainian painter on ethnic principle. --Yakudza 09:01, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He was a Lemko, not Ukrainian. Anyway, Belarussian has positively nothing to do in this context.

Jidu Boite is right, Lemkos are not Ukrainians, they're not "originally from Ukraine" or anything like that - they are originally from lands that span several countries and as such shouldn't be described as "Ukrainian" by default. Nikifor has been described as Polish because he lived in Poland (and it has been suggested that he's father was Polish, but that's another thing). He has no ties whatsoever to Ukraine. --109.196.118.133 (talk) 01:19, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pl wiki uses his full name Nikifor Krynicki. Shouldn't we move him there as well? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:33, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
