I really want to emphasise the loyal hardworking character here of Nikolai Liakhoff . He chose to work in Uk not solely because he felt loyal to a monarchy but primarily as a result of Loyalty towards the blind people he was trying to help. , he had left his own country due to the revolution and half his family had been murdered by Stalin. He had infact been offered a very much increased salary in the USA. Better living conditions and from what I read over all a much better life style. He was getting a very small salary here as the charity was struggling and he worked for years on no salary I believe as did his wife who became a trainer herself and was running the guide dog house and kennels. He writes that if he were to leave England now and think only
Of himself he would be letting down many people and that the organisation would most likely not succeed since there was only one other trainer at the time which he had trained and was only newly qualified. 2A02:C7C:6CD6:E400:418:B739:702:24B7 (talk) 10:02, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
