Stadium Name (AEK Stadium - Nikos Goumas Stadium)

[edit]

The 'Nikos Goumas Stadium' (Formerly 'AEK Stadium') is a totally different thing than the PROPOSED-AND-CURRENTLY-ONLY-IN-PLANS 'Agia Sofia' football grounds. The former was demolished 10 years ago and there is nothing left of it there ever since while the latter is still in plans. Thus the article has to revert to its old version and mention something like 'In the same site as the demolished Nikos Goumas Stadium, a new football stadium with the provisional name of "Agia Sophia' is planned to be erected'. A new article 'Agia Sophia' football stadium is suggested. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cdr259 (talkcontribs) 13:01, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OPAP Arena or Agia Sophia

[edit]

Since I believe this is going to be a point of discussion in the future, I believe that the stadium name should remain "OPAP Arena" for the same reasons why City of Manchester Stadium is not named "Etihad Stadium", stated here, as well as for the reasons why non-sponsored names are preferred to the sponsored ones if a non-sponsored one exists, in most (if not every) football stadium.
