Klan riot

[edit]

Is there any way we can include the Irish Italian war that is a deep part of niles cultural history?

A significant part of our history, the Klan Riot, is not mentioned in the history section. I would rather that the original person put this in to fit in with the continuity of the page. You can find all the information needed at http://www.cityofniles.com

Upgrading Niles, Ohio

[edit]

This article could be significantly improved by expanding the lead to at least three paragraphs. The lead should provide a general summary of the article. (Note: Although the national census is conducted every 10 years, it should be possible to find a relatively recent census bureau estimate of the city's population.) -- twelsht (talk) 03:35, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article would also benefit from sections on industry and business, government, and education. -- twelsht (talk) 03:45, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Famous people

[edit]

Niles,Oh, is also the birthplace of a research scientist, James D. Johnston, from McKinley in 1971, who is one of the co-inventors of the MP3 and AAC audio coding and transmission standards that revolutionized the audio industry. Information can be found, among other things, here: http://www.ieee.org/portal/pages/about/awards/bios/2006FlanaganSpeechAudioProcessingAward.html

His (hideously out of date) home page lives at home.comcast.net/~retired_old_jj

There must be some other folks who have done well from that era of Niles history, yes? It would seem rude to include just one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Woodinville (talkcontribs) 22:56, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article is not correct about William McKinley attending Niles High School. In fact, McKinley's family moved away when he was young. McKinley actually graduated from Poland Seminary High School in Poland, Ohio.

Where?

[edit]

The only parks that we have are Murphy, Waddel (IDK how to spell it), Stephens, and a park that acts more like a practice football bowl. Waddel, Stephens, and the "bowl" are on the outskirts of Niles, and most people in Niles don't even know about Murphy. I'm thinking a whole revison of this article is needed, to include geography, landmarks (we have 1 or 2), major news, and then famous people (like me, lulz). I could do it, but school and my gaming will probably take a revision of this article to take a few months to make it the most acurate I can. So if anybody that lives in, or even knows the damn city is free to help. Hell I'm begging for it. --Flynn M Taggart (talk) 14:15, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

High School

[edit]

This page mentions that William McKinley attended HS in Niles, and I believe that he actually moved to Poland and went to the HS in Poland. I would edit it myself, but I am unsure of how to fix that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 164.107.242.205 (talk) 22:49, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
