Jeep

[edit]

The Jeep commercial actually uses KRS-ONE's "Steady Bounce," which samples "Whutcha Want." If KRS-ONE paid for the sample, the Jeep paid KRS-ONE, there shouldn't be any legal problem I'd think. Anyone have more info?(24.75.180.31 01:32, 27 January 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Correct - it was a KRS track, however, obtaining permission to use a licence does not mean you have permission to then redistribute that sample. KRS was allowed to use it in his track - any further sampling is still Nines voice and thus will be owed royalties. 203.57.241.67 01:40, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Encise[reply]

Birthday

[edit]

Nine was born on the 19th of September, not the 9th. He says so on the song "Any Emcee" off of "Nine Livez". He says: "Like C. Boogie Brown I was born on the 19th day of September, NINE!!!!!! The numba one contender!"--Tainted Drifter 18:57, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

The "D." in "D. Keyes" must stand for "David" as he says in a few tracks "Save it for David"...--Tainted Drifter 09:09, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:NINE (rapper).jpg

[edit]

Image:NINE (rapper).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Merge to parent article

[edit]

Albums and singles that do not meet Wikipedia's notability guideline should be merged to the parent article. Unless Reliable sources are provided for the child articles, they will be merged or deleted. Active Banana (talk) 17:43, 14 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notability? His albums and singles made it to the Billboard charts and you're saying it's not notable? HELLO, all pass WP:Music so there is not reason for them to be merged. Live and Die 4 Hip Hop (talk) 01:31, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Simply appearing on a chart does not meet WP:MUSIC's "All articles on albums, singles or songs must meet the basic criteria at the notability guidelines, with significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Active Banana (talk) 16:35, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
