I used to do this art way - back. Even a few times in Japan. Keep the history correct and its interesting enough - no need to start talking about 4000 years ago in India.Peter Rehse 03:50, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We need some sources and some pics - especially with regard to the protectionPeter Rehse 03:51, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Much of the literature on this is in Japanese, posing something of a problem for sources. Anyone know of any literature in English, French, Spanish or Italian, other than the stuff the individual associations have on their websites? Bighairything (talk) 19:41, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Blackwhite patch.gif

[edit]

Image:Blackwhite patch.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Removed notability tag

[edit]

Yes, the lack of sources is a problem that needs to be worked on, but with association over three different continents, periodic competitions bringing these together, and a very important presence in Japan, notability shouldn't be an issue here. ~ Bighairything (talk) 18:54, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re-wrote two US History Paragraphs

[edit]

These two paragraphs were extremely problematic. The looked suspiciously like a copy and paste from a web site and were written in a style which seemed more of an essay to promote individuals rather than the subject. I replaced both paragraphs with two sentences, added a sentence for the UK and put in citations. I think both sections could be expanded somewhat but neither should be that much larger than what exists for Japan. I know there are associations in Europe outside the UK.Peter Rehse (talk) 04:52, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Original Research/Notes

[edit]

I moved the following this morning from an anonymous author. My previous attempt to remove was reverted so some explanation. It is of course unsourced original research but also of no real relevance to the article itself. All removal of Kinuya's reason for being in the states would be fine - I trimmed it down to the minimum. More important is some indication as to that status of Nippon Kempo at present without getting into the same problems there were before the re-write.

(NOTE: Master Kinuya NEVER obtained his bachelor's degree in America. I have first hand knowledge of this. Master Kinuya did attend Univerity in America BUT did not receive a bachelor's degree as he had already done his undergraduate work in Japan!

NOTE: MASTER KINUYA ATTENDED USC SOMETIME AFTER HE ARRIVED IN AMERICA IN 1960 NOT CAL STATE LA. MASTER KINUYA OBTAINED HIS UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE AT KANSAI UNIVERISTY IN JAPAN. I CANNOT RECALL AT THE MOMENT WHERE HE DID HIS GRADUATE WORK BUT IT WAS IN JAPAN, NOT AMERICA.Peter Rehse (talk) 08:25, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
