True summits[edit]

Nims did not summit the true summits of two of the 8000’ peaks. He retuned later and did so, but Kristin Harila already holds the fastest time of the true summits at just over a year and if successful on her current attempt will summit all 14 between 3-4 months.

If Nims didn’t reach the true summits, he didn’t set the record…and Wikipedia is wrong to say he did. 96.241.32.114 (talk) 05:38, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have sources that say this? Usedtobecool ☎️ 06:13, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Usedtobecool In fact her article states that she broke the record, making Wikipedia inconsistent at this point:
"On 27 July 2023, Harila and Tenjen Sherpa, a guide from Seven Summit Treks, established a new record summiting all 14 true geographic summits in just 92 days." Hakbijl (talk) 07:05, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You could make the edits you think are necessary, and see if someone comes to object to your changes, @Hakbijl. Wikipedia is a community project. Inconsistencies are best addressed by people who notice them. This is not a topic of my interest or expertise. I don't even remember why I put this article on my watchlist or when. Sexual harassment[edit]

Two women have accused Nirmal Purja of sexual harassment and assault. Dr. April Leonardo, a family physician from Quincy, California, says Purja repeatedly grabbed, kissed, and propositioned her during a expedition to K2, the world's second-tallest mountain in June 2022. Professional mountaineer and former Miss Finland Lotta Hintsa says Purja sexually assailed her in a hotel suite in Kathmandu, Nepal in March 2023: Hintsa states he led her to the bedroom, pulled off her shirt, trekking shorts and underwear and tried to remove her bra. She said she repeatedly told him no and offered excuses to get him to stop without agitating him. The episode ended with him masturbating next to her, she said. Both Leonardo's and Hintsa's accounts were corroborated by text messages, time-stamped photos, and other evidence examined by the reporters who wrote the New York Times article.
