GTI-RNissan Pulsar GTI-R — As this is a page I assume is created by a new user, article creator has incorrectly excluded the model name which he/she should have done —Willirennen 13:30, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to state your position on the renaming proposal by beginning a new line in this section with *'''Support''' or *'''Oppose''', then sign your comment with ~~~~. Since polling is not a substitute for discussion, please explain your reasons, taking into account Wikipedia's naming conventions.
  • Agree-but-Oppose I agree that the manufacturer name should be added, but I disagree that the name Pulsar should be included, since the RNN14 was badged as the Sunny when it competed (under the NME banner) in the WRC. I have renamed the article to "Nissan_GTI-R" (note: all the official factory labelling includes a capital "i" and a "dash" before the "R"). I hope this is acceptable, and your help is appreciated. (Top work on the WRC project btw! and nice to see some acknowledgement of the small-but-unique part the GTI-R played in it's history so far). Gtiroz 05:34, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Although I don't know what the naming convention is as on most pages, it is usually the current name over past name (i.e. Lexus IS over Toyota Altezza) or domestic name (Mitsubishi GTO over 3000GT or Nissan March over Micra) unless there are vast model differences between the two (Toyota bB to Scion xB). The reason why I proposed the namechange is that Pulsar is the JDM name for the car as it was built there, just like the March to Micra, I accept the current title change as it is as I have not seen a GTI-R badge for a long time (since I rarely attend Japanese car shows nowadays and those I seen don't have a badge in them, also I hadn't a fan of them as I favoured Skylines and Fairladys), although I not sure what the other editors will think, I think this would going into a long debate like that of the Scion xB and Mitsubishi GTO. I will need to find out what others think. Willirennen 19:44, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - Further explanation of reasoning is consistant and logical (and avoidance of referenced long debate preferable). Page has been moved as per original suggestion. Gtiroz 07:17, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Any additional comments:

I'm not sure what it is called but there is a white version of the RB (with black door handles) with a close ratio gear box, no AC, back window wiper, electric windows etc etc that was only available in arctic white and I believe there were only 2500 produced? Does anyone out there know what this model is called? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Simon John Marshall (talkcontribs) 19:44, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
