re: The Mehola Junction bombing - while this was indeed Hamas' first suicide bomb attack, the targets were Israeli soldiers. This information therefore does not contradict the quote (11) in the article which says that Rayan claims the Goldstein attack was what prompted Hamas to use suicide attacks against Israeli civilians.

Consequently, I am editing the text as follows:

"Although the first Hamas suicide attack occurred more than one year prior to the Cave of the Patriarchs massacre, this was targeted at Israeli military personnel. " — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.7.235.84 (talk) 13:48, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This entire sentence is unsourced editorializing. I removed it. Marokwitz (talk) 13:55, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry Marokwitz .. I'm new enough to editing but the original sentence that I replaced was very misleading and IMO served to press a particular (and highly contested) POV. According to the wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mehola_Junction_bombing the bomber was killed and 8 soldiers injured. Thus, while this was a suicide attack (which I didn't dispute), it was not targetted at civilians or civilian vehicles.

I am quite happy to leave my edit out of the article.. I just did not feel it correct to remove someone else's work, no matter how POV and misleading, and thought an edited version of the sentence that actually reflected the facts would be more appropriate — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.7.235.84 (talk) 15:29, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No need to be sorry, you did OK. In the future be WP:BOLD, you would be perfectly right to remove un-sourced editorializing and synthesis. Marokwitz (talk) 17:11, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
