One thing that is clearly missing[edit]

And is missing from most entries on legislation is this: WHO were the people lobbying for this legislation? It clearly wasn't the Teacher's Union. So, who exactly greased the wheels for this to happen? Who were the campaign contributors to the people who introduced this legislation Thtis is not a partisan thing - it cuts both ways - and I think it would be very useful to the users of wikipedia to know this kind of stuff. Think of the recent SOPA and PIPA legislation - the people who proposed that received major contributions from Media Companies and the legislators met with lobbyists from said industries in order to craft these laws. Same thing with NCLBA. I don't have the answers or the data on this, but I think those who do and have proof in the press should be encouraged to speak up and provide the users of wikipedia a greater and more rounded understanding of exactly WHY a particular piece of legislation exists... cheers! Legislative history[edit]

As noted above, one section that's clearly deficient is in where this legislation came from, and it bears studying. I attended a presentation by a Harvard professor years ago who explained that two different groups of academicians offered Congress competing philosophies regarding the legislative approach for NCLB. This article would have readers believing Congress created it out of their own ignorance, and that's definitely not the case. Rklawton (talk) 19:02, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
