Name of monument: Proposed move[edit]

Historic England has a slightly different name for this monument, North Eastern Railway Company War Memorial, at https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1256553 If the official name includes the word Company, perhaps this article should be moved. Oppose rename - Certainly not Railway Workers War Memorial - there are many railway war memorials, and that title would not disambiguate between them. Also OSM is a Wiki and therefore cannot be considered a reliable source. Also weak oppose to North Eastern Railway Company War Memorial as an unnecessary expansion, though I see no problem as a redirect. Optimist on the run (talk) 22:23, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea where OSM came up with that name; it sounds like a generic description for a type of monument rather than the name of this one. As for including "company", the pre-nationalisation railway companies in Britain generally were generally referred to without the "company" suffix. Some sources, especially the non-railway-specialist ones include the suffix, some don't. Hence our articles are at North Eastern Railway (United Kingdom), Great Western Railway, London and South Western Railway, and many more. Following that pattern, we also have the Great Eastern Railway War Memorial, London, Brighton and South Coast Railway War Memorial, and the Midland Railway War Memorial and probably others. Redirects are harmless so we can create one for North Eastern Railway Company War Memorial but I oppose moving the article there.
