Having an initial read-through now. Will post some comments tonight and revisit tomorrow or over the weekend. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:16, 26 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Prose/MoS:

  • Chris Ward was taken from the house in County Down and driven to Poleglass "the house"? You haven't previously introduced Ward or a house so this is confusing. Do you mean from his house?
  • the house is the County Down home mentioned in the previous sentence, I agree "his house" is better so changed Mujinga (talk) 15:33, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • i did that because heist is a disambig page. is it that surprising to go to a list? i could just take it out and put the link as a "see also" instead i suppose Mujinga (talk) 15:35, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Why Northern Bank sterling notes which were used and not just "used sterling notes" or "used Northern Bank sterling notes"?
  • sure could switch in "used Northern Bank sterling notes". actually now I'm wondering if "sterling" is redundant when the figure is given in pounds Mujinga (talk) 15:37, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • was himself arrested I know what you're getting at but "himself" is redundant here (it would only be useful if he was the one making the arrests)
  • Perhaps explain the relationship between Sinn Fein and the IRA for the uninitiated?
  • ha! i was hoping not to, it's such a minefield! i'll have a think on that one Mujinga (talk) 15:44, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • i believe he is linked twice in the lead and "initial responses" Mujinga (talk) 15:44, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Cunningham avoided imprisonment on account of his age How old was he?
  • 65 and the source says it was a factor, but i've just removed it Mujinga (talk) 15:31, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • alleging it had been improperly processed How so?
  • brought more into line with source Mujinga (talk) 15:44, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Maybe explain the relevance of the City bonds robbery in the see also?

Breadth of coverage:

  • sadly out of print and not on gbooks, added to "further reading" Mujinga (talk) 15:56, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • £27.92 on Amazon. Admittedly a little steep. The GA criteria don't say anything about comprehensiveness or thoroughness of research so I don't think it's an issue at this level but if you were interested in taking this to FAC you would struggle to meet 1c. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 11:58, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • wow thanks, that's not something i came across, that's very interesting and i'll attempt to work it in Mujinga (talk) 15:56, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • added the murder and its repercussions to the legacy section

Illustrations:

  • I think you need more discussion of the banknote and a more detailed caption for the image to satisfy WP:NFCC#8.
  • the fact that the robbery caused this particular note to be taken out of circulation is for me a justification for its inclusion, I'll try to emphasise that more then Mujinga (talk) 15:56, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I know it's difficult to illustrate articles like this. Are there any other images that might be useful? Photos of people involved or mentioned, for example?
  • Yeah I did have a good look but I can try again, would be great to get someone. Well, there are pics of Hugh Orde and the politicians but they are only tangentially related. Mujinga (talk) 15:56, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • i've added one pic of Hugh Orde, another of Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness, see what you think Mujinga (talk) 10:21, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think the GA criteria can be comfortably satisfied with just a little bit more work. There are other things I might pick up on if this were an FAC, but with a little more work still it could meet that standard. Excellent work, and I look forward to revisiting in a few days. Hiya thanks for taking this on, I should be able to answer your comments in the next days, will ping when done, cheers Mujinga (talk) 23:38, 26 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi HJ Mitchell I've answered everything now, please let me know what you think Mujinga (talk) 11:04, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent work. Although there's more that could be done if you wanted to take it further, I believe the GA criteria are satisfied. Passing. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 13:43, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
