Multiple conference titles[edit]

I left a note at User talk:AnneMorgan88#NIU, but just so others see it, it's not atypical to have the infobox set up like the one here to denote when a team has won conference titles in different conferences. Other examples are Akron Zips men's basketball, Ohio State Buckeyes football, and Maryland Terrapins men's basketball. The infobox only lists the current conference, so without some kind of separation in the list of championship years, it appears a school has won titles in their current league, which is obviously not true. When an article doesn't have that separation (like Kent State Golden Flashes men's basketball and Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball), it's because the team has only won titles in their current conference. --JonRidinger (talk) 05:52, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This discussion belongs here rather than on user talk pages. I agree that since the conferences are so varied, they need to be identified in the infobox. Some of the conferences no longer even exist.

There is also the question of whether to use "Little 19" or "IIAC". Since "Little 19" does not even occur in the lede, much less first sentence, of the wiki article on that conference, I would go with the official name (IIAC). Softlavender (talk) 07:07, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also, if further opinions are sought, they can be asked at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject College Basketball. -- Softlavender (talk) 12:27, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
