Cleanup Needed[edit]

This article needs to be cleaned up to meet the Wikipedia quality standards. For a start, knowing the city, state, country, etc. of the school would be nice. Also, some information on the school district or a link to them would be a good start. Otherwise, this just seems to be a 'self-promotion' page - not Wikipedia material. The Deviant 02:54, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm trying to embed an ariel picture of the highschool that I uploaded onto wikipedia commons, but it is not working. Any ideas? Theuedimaster 03:36, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Fixed what you said, I've assummed that its "cleaned up". Theuedimaster 20:25, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Article is shaping up some. I've added the cleanup tag back, as there is still a lot of POV material, and there could be more information. Still needs to meet the quality standards. The Deviant 20:56, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've begun research on the history of my school (i go to Northville) so once i have enough time and info, i will try to fix up this article and make it better. Waltermellin 00:42, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Perfect! The Deviant 03:02, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
      • I can add an exterior shot, but it is obscured by a car.--Jnelson09 17:45, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
        • Acutally David ;), why don't you just take another shot of the school? We still have like 3 months...Theuedimaster 18:24, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
          • umm, i don't think it's David. Did you look at his profile, dude? he's lives in North Carolina, i think... Anyhoo, srry about not getting anything done so far... :-/ I don't really have time as of the moment, spring is always busiest for me... but once i get enough time i'll try to write an article ^_^ Waltermellin 01:14, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Establishment Date[edit]

So the earliest dates I could find mentioning Northville High School were 1888 based on the Northville History Index at http://history.northville.lib.mi.us/

If anyone finds more reliable information, by all means, update it. Wangry 08:54, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Allegations of cheating subsection[edit]

It has been almost tow months since the introduction of this section and it is still does not have a source. I am not sure why User:69.135.177.104 continues to restore this section without a source. Without a source, the allegations are hearsay at best and are not appropriate for Wikipedia. If the allegations are true, it should not be to hard to find a reliable source.--Coaster1983 05:07, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RESPONSE: The allegations are well-known throughout the high school, and the MSBOA was made aware of the fact that the band had been given the music in advance on several occassions. Call the director. I'm sure he'll confirm it. In the mean time, I will keep correcting the record. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.135.177.104 (talkcontribs). 23:29, July 24, 2007) (UNC)

So provide a verifiable source. "[W]ell-known throughout the high school" is not a verifiable source. It is up to YOU to provide sources for your contributions not other editors or readers. If you persist in re-adding the same information without sources, you may find yourself getting blocked for making disruptive edits. olderwiser 00:46, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Please see the following official Wikipedia policies: verifiability, reliable source, and no original research. The allegations have been challenged by myself and two other editors and after nearly two months a source still has not been provided. However, as a compromise, I will be removing removing the remainder of the Band Program as it is also not sourced and therefore cannot be verified at the moment.--Coaster1983 01:10, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

High-Achieving Students[edit]

The page currently states that "Out of the 432 students that made up the senior class that year, 265 graduated cum laude with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale..." - meaning over 60% of the senior class graduated with a GPA above a 3.0. Considering that Grade Point Average is a relative standard based only within the high school, this seems like a poor mechanism to determine if the student body is actually "high-achieving." One could argue that this instead signifies grade inflation and is therefore not an indicator of achievement. A more appropriate fit would be the students' average ACT or SAT scores, which are standardized throughout the country.

I suggest removing the entire section on academics at Northville High School. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.88.244.34 (talk) 02:38, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Need More Sources[edit]

Making a statement such as "About 1 out of 4 students in school is estimated to be part of the choir program." is dubious. Using "About" and "Estimated" in the same sentence without putting a source, is not the type of statement is not appropriate for Wikipedia. This needs to be fixed or removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sbryfcz (talkcontribs) 01:19, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
