Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Northwestel. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Conversion to Cite news & Cite web

[edit]

I just spent some time converting most of the citations in the References section to Cite news and Cite web. A couple of them were not available on Wayback. One of them was on Wayback but I could not access it because it requires Adobe Flash. Jimj wpg (talk) 01:39, 14 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sources for citations

[edit]

Most of the text in this article deals with the history of Northwestel and needs citations from reliable sources. The last bits, bottom of the article are well cited and I replaced the 'bare urls' with proper citation format. I have access via my local Winnipeg Public Library (WPL) of the archives of the Globe and Mail. However, they don't stretch prior to 1977. I am wanting prior to '77 access to the Globe's archives so that I could help work on CNCP Telecommunications and Northwestel articles. Frustrated that I can't find any digital archives to accomplish it. Where did the writer(s) get the information about CNT's service to the NWT and Yukon? Was it from a book? If so, the book or books should be cited. Jimj wpg (talk) 04:52, 14 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I worked for Northwestel from 1981 to 2007, and during that time, I witnessed the events of that period, and also researched by looking in older directories at the library and at the Yukon Archives, as well as consulting some newspaper microfilms. If there are specific references you are asking about, please let me know. GBC (talk) 21:10, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
