Article Title

[edit]

The official name of the arena is "National Ice Centre" (www.national-ice-centre.com). Maybe this should be renamed?

This article refers to the building which previously stood on the site now occupied by the NIC. 82.18.38.236 10:00, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Old Barn citation

[edit]

I know for a fact that the old ice rink was known as 'The Old Barn' because I was amongst the rabble that bandied this term about in the olden days, so it's a personal memory of mine but I know that's not really sufficient! I would struggle to include a citation as I've never done this before. I have found a reference to the old barn in a Pinterest photo of the old ice stadium but I don't know how to go about pulling in a reference of this kind. Any help would be much appreciated. I thought it was only referred to as ‘The Old Barn’ only after closure by Gary Moran, General Manager.--palmiped |  Talk  15:34, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Further rooting around has discovered that it was commonly referred to as just 'The Barn' and, as you said, after it closed it became 'The Old Barn' whilst the National Ice Centre is termed 'The New Barn'... I know Jayne Torvill refers to it as The Barn in her autobiography, if that helps? Rodney Baggins (talk) 23:21, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
