Most likely the rivers correct transliteration is Koghb - the same as the name of a nearby village. --RaffiKojian 02:48, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Barana

[edit]

The old name of town -Baran[a], is not Turkic. According bishop Makar Barkhudaryan(Makar Barkhudaryanc 'Artsakh', 1895, Baku- p.383) the name of town- Baran or Paran is dialectial form of Aparan. Aparan or aparanq is Armnian world(http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%D5%A1%D5%BA%D5%A1%D6%80%D5%A1%D5%B6%D6%84), what means palace, regal mansion. Towns with this name is in Aragatsotn province of Armenia, also was in modern day Turkey. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.77.168.84 (talk) 20:01, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
