This image is from the official NuvaRing literature, but the actual ring doesn't look like this at all. The picture shows a circular ring, but the real deal is more egg-shaped. I've seen one actual ring and heard of another secondhand, and both reports show that the official picture is wrong. If anyone has a better (more accurate) picture, please upload it. - I believe you have seen a used ring, that has been squeezed inside the vagina for three weeks. // habj 07:38, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Habj, after checking on this, you are absolutely correct. Vectro 17:10, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- I am holding a brand new Nuvaring, and it looks exactly like the manufacturer's picture. (well, it's clear, not blue - the blue in the picture is from the lighting used in the product shot) After 3 weeks of [vaginal] use, a used Nuvaring will have a oval like appearance. // timo 01:02, 28 December 2006 (PST)
I have uploaded a 'real' picture of the NuvaRing. I will attempt to put it on the page but feel free to move it around as you see fit. --Sakky 23:35, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
An article about a trademark?
Nuvaring might be the first brand, but sooner or later there will be others. I feel a bit uneasy about having this article under the brand name. Is there no generic term, like "birth control ring" or something similar? // habj 07:38, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- There's plenty of articles about trademarks. It's unlikely that another company will market the exact same product, since the particular NuvaRing formulation is patented. But if and when another contraceptive ring shows up, we can move this page or create a new page. Until then, no need to worry about it. Cheers, Vectro 00:35, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
Scrubs product placement?
The NuvaRing logo appears quite often in the background of the TV show Scrubs, and has for a few years. I don't know if this is simple set design, or, more likely, paid product placement. Is it worth mentioning either here or at the Scrubs article? Dyfsunctional 20:59, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'd say no, unless maybe if you can find some reliable third-party sources that have written about the placement. Vectro 16:51, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
