[edit]Hi everyone! I am participating in an educational assignment, as part of which I am hoping to improve this page about O-linked glycosylation. I want to ensure that the article contains all the relevant and current material regarding the topic as it is currently quite sparse, primarily by adding information and corresponding references from textbooks and papers by researchers in the field.
The main edits that I hope to undergo are:
- Illustrating the page, adding structures of the individual sugars as well as diagrams to illustrate overall O-glycan structures as they are attached to proteins
- Improving and rephrasing the lead section in order to make it accessible to a lay audience
- Adding a section discussing biosynthesis of O-glycans — Preceding unsigned comment added by Waffeln (talk • contribs) 09:11, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
- Expanding the section on proteins - specifically proteoglycans
- Largely expanding the section on lipids and implications of O-glycans on these structures
- Introducing a section on clinical relevance - discussing the relevance of O-glycans in organ transplants and cancer
Please let me know if you have any other suggestions! Waffeln (talk) Waffeln (talk) 09:05, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
