Name[edit]

padmasri, padmabhushan are not Titles[edit]

Padmasri and Padmabhushan are awards and not titles. Here in this page padmasri and padmavibhushan are listed under titles and even as honorary prefixes. As per Indian govt. regulations these awards(Padma sri, Padma bhushan, Padma vibhushan and Bharath ratna) should not be used as honorary prefixes and titles. In Andhra pradesh, telugu movie artist and producer Mohan babu used "padmasri" as a title in many movies he produced. Later BJP Leader filed a case against him on misuse of Padma awards. Andhrapradesh high court ordered him to give that award back to govt. And Supreme court of India ordered Mohan babu not to use this as honorary prefix or title and took his assurance.--Pavan santhosh.s (talk) 06:34, 14 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:O. N. V. Kurup/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

This article lacks most things: infobox, persondata and above all SUBSTANCE. The biography is worthy of a stub. Furthermore, there is almost nothing about his work, except lists of books and awards. I get virtually no info on what kind of a poet he is from this article. Nor do I get much info on the rest of his life, including his political ideas (he is, after all, a politician as well).

On the positive side, the article has pictures, some references and the lists are good.

To reach a B grade an article must have most of the info/compnents found in a full article. This article does not meet this standard, and is consequently a Start class article. - Duribald 17:02, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
