Some editing[edit]

I am going to attempt a rewrite of this article.--DancerMiriam (talk) 02:26, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have issues with the line "(the larger dish's sole claim to fame)"[edit]

I worked at OTC Carnarvon between February, 1973 and July, 1984. The large (97') dish was in use for all of that time doing communications between eastern Australia and Western Australia. This included TV transmissions, and, I think, voice (telephone) channels as well. I can't be sure because I wasn't handling those things myself; I worked in the Tracking, Telemetry and Command (TT&C) section instead, under a contract OTC had with Intelsat. I'd like to correct the impression that the 97' antenna sat there doing nothing most of the time. That is not so. Rjmx (talk) 02:58, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

 Fixed
I've removed the "... sole claim to fame" - the relative "fame" of individual antennae is irrelevant here. Mitch Ames (talk) 04:52, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds good. Thanks. Rjmx (talk) 02:49, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
