Police Chief Howard Jordan (and Occupy Oakland)

The article should be updated to mention that the current "interim" police chief is Howard Jordan, after Batt's resignation earlier in October. Otherwise people will see this article & think that Anthony Batts was responsible for the fiasco at Occupy Oakland. Missing material

What the fuck is going on here? No mention of the Oakland Riders, the history of the department, of the Occupy Oakland? This is seriously messed up.19:24, 30 January 2012, 71.202.254.219

Well, maybe because no one has taken the time to add this material. Its your encyclopedia (to an extent), so why don't you add it? you cant blame a volunteer effort for not being complete. I agree the Riders need mention.(mercurywoodrose)76.232.10.26 (talk) 20:34, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
These shortcomings have all since been addressed. --Elvey(tc) 04:41, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

Proposed merge with Sean Whent

Could be extra information. Maybe candidate for A7. Kadzi (talk) 21:31, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

Oppose. The linked page, https://oaklandwiki.org/Sean_Whent has plenty of well-sourced, appropriate information, and a compatible license. --Elvey(tc) 04:41, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

Lapel cameras / PDRDs

One can't tell if OPD officers' PDRDs are recording. My direct experience is that if there's a blinking green light, the camera may or may not be recording. Would be good if we had an RS for that info tho. --Elvey(tc) 00:08, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

From your first post, it seemed like you were just asking a personal question. My bad. - SantiLak (talk) 00:15, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

Major missing material

Why exactly is there nothing whatsoever about this Huffington Post story [1] (about the Federal government being on the brink of taking over the Oakland police department in 2012) in the article, other than as a reference? It is an important piece of information.

I do not have any personal knowledge of this subject, but I hope someone who does will please add that information to the article.Daqu (talk) 21:25, 25 January 2015 (UTC)

Footnote 27 doesn't verify Salary rank claim

In the Salary section, the sentence "Police Officer Entry Level current annual salary is $69,912 to $98,088, the second highest in the country[27]" is unverified. Footnote 27 points to an article that instead states "In Oakland, the starting pay for police officers - $70,044.96 - is higher than most other police jobs in the state." That reference's actual statement is quite different from the sentence in Wikipedia falsely using footnote 27 to back up its claim. Therefore, I'm going to edit (8/25/15) that sentence to reflect its footnoted source. Someone can change it back if they can find a source that really states the OPD starting salaries are the second highest in the nation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gypsymansion (talkcontribs) 07:32, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
