Kwomais Point Etymology[edit]

Conflicting sources here. The book, "British Columbia Place Names" by G. P. V. Akrigg, Helen B. Akrigg, says it is a Straits Salish or Halkomelem word meaning "dog face" (page 146, freely available through a Google Books search). "Know BC" suggested people retconned the etymology or something for the more marketable definition of "place of vision"...
