Grattan Stadium[edit]

Grattan stadium was moved here as no objections were raised. This follows Wikipedia convention of not using sponsorship names for sport-related articles. See Talk:Grattan Stadium. Yorkshire Phoenix (talkcontribs) 09:55, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DPR Football Team[edit]

Should we have more information on this matter and maybe its own article —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.160.57.159 (talk) 18:47, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

References[edit]

Could someone help out sourcing or adding references for this article? It could be a really great article, but at the minute there are barely any references to say where all this information has come from. I can see sources and direct quotations in the text (i.e. the bit about renovation) but not added as references at the bottom. If people want to paste references here I don't mind adding them into the text. I must ask please don't just add information in without linking to where you got it from. Cheers. I'm not sure people understood me last time, but since I wrote this more material has been added that is unreferenced and appears to be based on people's personal opinions. Please provide good references to new material, newspaper, journal and book citations. If you have trouble doing this I can assist. Cheers. Kaleeyed (talk) 23:33, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Article Structure[edit]

According to the Sports Venue taskforce this is the agreed structure for an article on a venue:

At a minimum, an entry for a facility should include the following:

A completed Infobox Stadium or Infobox Venue (Done)

A paragraph stating what the facility is, where it is and what kinds of events it hosts (if it is an arena, include concerts where applicable). This paragraph should include the relevant transportation modes to arrive at the facility, such as mass transit and roadways.

Information about the organizations and events that make use of the facility.

A history of the facility, including:

The planning and construction

Name changes (including new or changing sponsors)

Famous moments (including any championship events)

Closure and demolition of the facility

Any external links to official web sites of the facility

Succession boxes for: Present tenants Present event hosting Past tenants Past event hosting Relevant templates (collapsed)

Please refer to this when editing the article and please reference all material. Kaleeyed (talk) 23:41, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Peer review[edit]

I'm putting this article up for peer review, as it doesn't seem to be progressing at all. It is now such a jumble of information I wouldn't know where to start. References have been removed and structure seems non-existent. If you are making edits, please explain them on this page before doing them, so they can be discussed. Kaleeyed (talk) 17:14, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want a review then you need to set up the review as per Wikipedia:Peer review. Keith D (talk) 18:36, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers. I put it in for a rugby league project peer review, and I've contacted the Sports Venues task force about it. But I'll try that next if they don't work. This may be sacrilige to say, but people should look at Valley Parade for an example of an excellent article on a sports ground and tips on how to structure it and what sort of information should be included.Kaleeyed (talk) 21:29, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've begun to tackle this, based on the Valley Parade article you suggested. So far I've filled out the introduction and begun to rearrange the sections along the lines of Valley Parade. I've only really looked at the history section so far, but I have a copy of two very useful books - the Delaney and Gate ones listed in the refs - so over the coming days I'll try and tidy up some more and add refs where possible. I agree it is a jumble of information, but there's a lot of good stuff there that could make a good article. Peaky76 (talk) 22:11, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
