Is the Back Umpire nomenclature defunct?[edit]

I've seen some mechanics manuals, particular for five- and six-official crews, that refer to the deep official as the Back Umpire (or Back Umpire and Back Judge, for six-official mechanics). In these situations, the Umpire is disambiguated as Line Umpire.

Is this terminology still in use, or is Back Judge now in use for five-official crews? —C.Fred (talk) 20:44, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Found the Football Canada rulebook and my answer. Back Umpire is still in use, but the other position is just Umpire. —C.Fred (talk) 02:52, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
