- Hi, I'll review this soonish, a couple of initial points below. FunkMonk (talk) 20:54, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Gloria Estefan is WP:duplinked two times.
- I don't think the single source used is strong or specific enough to label the song "Arabic pop". It is a Latin pop song with elements of general Arabic music, but that's not exactly the same as being part of that particular genre. I'd suggest looking for better sources for that statement, or state specifically that one writer has called it "Arabic pop".
- I replaced it with a source from American Songwriter magazine. – jona ✉ 17:25, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- It appears Magiciandude wrote most of this article, have they been contacted about this nomination? FunkMonk (talk) 14:17, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
- I'm here, I'm just waiting for the full. review. Erick (talk) 18:01, 19 March 2023 (UTC)
- Shakira should be linked and presented again at first mention outside the intro.
- "producer in the Hispanic market" Link to something. Either just Hispanic or if there is something for the Hispanic market.
- "Equipment for the recording of Dónde Están los Ladrones? included" Present and link the album. Like "Equipment for the recording of her subsequent album Dónde Están los Ladrones?" or similar
- "Dónde Están los Ladrones? took nine months to produce" I don't think you need to repeat the entire name of the album when it has just been mentioned in the former sentence, just say "the album".
- "The track is sung half in Spanish, half in Arabic" Half? As far as I recall, there is one verse in Arabic and some backing, so half is a bit much, no?
- "prompted American singer Gloria Estefan, Emilio Estefan's wife" This is the second time she's presented in the same section.
- Link belly dancing.
- If you want to underline the Arabic angle, it's conspicuous that the section about live performances doesn't mention that she belly dances during the song.
- No list of musicians for the recording?
- I'd assume Arabic musicians would have been hired for the instrumentation, a process that could be interesting to describe if possible. In the MTV unplugged version, there are at least Arabic musicians and singers.
- It seems like an oversight that an article about her probably only Arabic influenced song doesn't mention it's because she's half Lebanese and how this would have influenced it.
- Was the English version released as a single?
- "Shakira performing the song on The Sun Comes Out World Tour (2010–11)." How do we know it's this song specifically?
- That should be it for now, Magiciandude. FunkMonk (talk) 22:43, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
It seems that Erick is busy IRL. If it is okay with the reviewer, I wouldn't mind jumping in to help Erick with this nomination. Best – jona ✉ 14:14, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- Fine with me. FunkMonk (talk) 14:17, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- I believe I have fixed the issues that Erick had yet to complete. Let me know if there's anything else that needs to be done. Best – jona ✉ 17:25, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
- Looks good, the new source added about Arabic pop is better, but it confirms what I suspected earlier, and that the song can at most be said to have elements of Arabic pop, it is not itself an Arabic pop song. Here's what the source says: "as the song incorporates elements of Arabic pop and also includes Arabic song lyrics". So I think this still needs to be specified with more cautious language.
