Common name[edit]

I have restored the text as per the article's title; the source for the title is the listing by Heritage New Zealand. Various edit summaries have put the case forward that "Old Government Building" is apparently a promotional name. That's entirely irrelevant; what matters to Wikipedia is WP:COMMONNAME and having lived in Christchurch for 25 years, I have never heard anyone refer to it other than as per the current title. It's also a single building and hence I'm not sure why it should be pluralised, acknowledging that the plural is in use in The architectural heritage of Christchurch. I've applied semi-protection so that the disruptive edits come to an end; if the IP editor wants to argue their point, the talk page (i.e. right here) is the place to do that. Having lived in Christchurch for much longer than 25 years (i.e. earlier than 1998) I can assure you it is the Government Buildings. It was a cluster of government offices with two entrances, one from Cathedral Square and the other from Worcester Street. Feel free to pop into the library sometime and do some research in Wises, and you will see that for many years, until it was re-purposed for commercial use (hotel and bar "Old Government Building" aka OGB) in the mid 1990s (earlier than 25 years ago) it was listed as Government Buildings. The CCC Heritage Team publication is called Government Buildings because that is the name of the building. The HeritageNZ reference listed in Wikipedia is a brief overview that identifies only the heritage values of the property. It is not a definitive history, and the title of "Old Government Building" is incorrect.
